1. Overview

FunParrots.com is owned and operated by Steven Mark in Pasadena, California. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding it. By using this site, you agree to the practices described here.

2. What We Collect

FunParrots is a free read-only site. We do not require registration or logins. Information we may collect includes:

• Traffic measurement through Google Analytics: pages viewed, the site or search that referred you, approximate location by city, device and browser type, which links and filters you use on the page
• Information you voluntarily submit through our contact form or our advertising application (handled by Netlify Forms)
• Cookies that remember your event filter settings and let Google Analytics recognize a repeat visit (see Section 5)

We do not sell, rent, or trade any personal information to third parties.

3. Event Data

FunParrots aggregates publicly available event listings from parks departments, community boards, venue websites, Meetup groups, and similar public sources. We do not collect or store personal information from those sources. Event listings are informational only, and we make no guarantee of accuracy, availability, or completeness.

4. Advertising

Advertising on FunParrots is sold directly by us to local businesses. We do not use Google AdSense or any other ad network, and no advertising network tracks you here. Sponsor cards are plain images and text served from this site.

• No ad cookies. Our advertisers do not set cookies on this site and do not receive any information about you.
• Click counts. When you click a sponsor card, the click passes through a link on this site so we can tell that advertiser how many people clicked. Advertisers receive counts, never your identity.
• Netlify hosts this website and processes form submissions. Standard server logs may be retained per their policy.

5. Cookies

This site sets two kinds of cookie, neither used for advertising:

• Preference. Remembers your event filter choices (categories, area, venue) so the page looks the same next time you visit on that device.
• Analytics. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, each lasting up to 2 years) to tell a repeat visit from a new one and to hold a session together. Google processes this data on our behalf. We have not enabled Google Signals or advertising personalization, so this data is not used to build an ad profile of you.

You can manage or disable cookies in your browser settings, and the site still works without them. To opt out of Google Analytics everywhere, Google offers a browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

6. External Links

Event listings link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure.

8. Your Rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information you have submitted via our contact form. California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA.

9. Children

This site is not directed at anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date reflects the most recent version.
